Brian Friday signs

Third round draft pick shortstop Brian Friday signed with the Pirates on Friday. He has already joined the Spikes but has not yet been activated.

CYCLONES CRUSH SPIKES

July 14, 2007 – The Cyclones blew out the State College Spikes Saturday night by the score of 13-1 behind home runs by four different players.

Brooklyn starter Eric Niesen gave up one run in three innings of work before reliever Steven Cheney came in and pitched 4.2 scoreless frames while striking out four batters to earn his first win of the season.
