NILES, OH — The State College Spikes were swept by the Mahoning Valley Scrappers dropping the final game of the series 7-2 at Eastwood Field.
Mahoning Valley scored runs in every inning except the first and the fourth. The Scrappers scored a pair in the second and one each in the third, fifth, six, seventh, and eighth.
Starting pitcher Nicolas Suero (1-3) allowed four runs on ten hits (the third time he’s given up 10 hits in an outing this year). Brandon Williams returned from the Altoona Curve and gave up one run in the sixth. Michael Felix gave up a run in each the seventh and eighth.
