Renegades Comeback Falls Short

18 07 2007

FISHKILL, NY (July 18, 2007) – The State College Spikes defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades 6-5 Wednesday evening. Pitching effectively for the Spikes was left-handed starting pitcher, Tony Watson. Watson, who surrendered two earned over six innings, improved his record to 5-0.

Hudson Valley refused to concede victory, battling back from a 6th inning, three run deficit to pull within one run entering the final frame. State College never relinquished their marginal lead, however, as Spikes closer Ronald Uviedo retired the Renegades 1-2-3 in the 9th inning for his 6th save of the season.
